Mechanic

We are hiring a Mechanic on behalf of our client, a  commercial landscaping and snow removal company.

Overview

The Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing the company’s fleet of landscaping, snow removal, and commercial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, oil changes, tire changes/rotations, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Maintain trucks, trailers, mowers, skid steers, loaders, tractors, snowblowers, plows, salters, and other equipment.
• Move vehicles/equipment between job sites and pick up parts when required.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop.
• Follow safety procedures and complete tasks within deadlines.
• Assist with coordinating/delegating work when required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a similar mechanic/equipment maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with landscaping, agricultural, construction, or snow removal equipment is an asset.
• Valid Ontario Class G licence with a clean driving record.
• AZ/DZ licence is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

• Full-time, in-person position.
• Combination of shop and outdoor work.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
• May require extended hours/weekends during peak landscaping and winter seasons.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and typical shop environments.
